The President and Governing Council of Christian Institute for Leadership Education and Development have today, April 6, 2023, announced the appointment of Rev. Father Ishanesu Sextus Gusha, PhD as Senior Fellow and Subject Matter Expert in Old and New Testaments, Theology, Transformational Leadership, Religious Studies, Pastoral Care and Counselling of the Institute.
Rev. Father Dr. Ishanesu Sextus Gusha is an ordained Anglican Parish Priest and Senior University Lecturer educator extensive and strong academic background in Old and New Testaments, Transformational Leadership, Religious Studies and Pastoral Care and Counselling. He holds a PhD from the University of Pretoria, a Master of Theological Studies (Old and New Testament) from Nashotah House Theological Seminary, Wisconsin, USA, Diploma in Transformational Leadership Development for Christian Leaders from LASOF Leadership Institute, Harare, Zimbabwe, Master of Arts in Religious Studies (New Testament) from University of Zimbabwe, Harare, Zimbabwe, Certificate in Pastoral Care and Counselling from Christian Counselling Center, Harare, Zimbabwe, Bachelor of Arts (Hon) in Religious Studies from the University of Zimbabwe, Harare, Zimbabwe, among several other academic and professional development certificates. He is a member of the Anglican Association of Biblical Scholars since 2018, member New Testament Society for Southern Africa since 2015 as well as member, Society for Biblical Literature since 2016.
Rev. Father Dr. Gusha is currently Chaplain at St. James and St. Philip Anglican Church, Palma de Mallorca, Spain, in the Anglican Diocese in Europe. He was previously Senior Lecturer in New Testament and Koine Greek in the Department of Philosophy, Religion and Ethics at the University of Zimbabwe, Harare, Zimbabwe, from 2018 to 2021. He was also Dean at the Cathedral of St. Mary and All Saints, Anglican Diocese of Harare, Zimbabwe, from 2019 to 2021. From 2017 to 2019, he was Rector at Saint Peter’s Parish, Mabelreign, Harare. Rector, Saint Aidan’s Parish, Seke, Chitungwiza, from 2012 to 2015, Rector at Saint Luke’s Parish, Mufakose, Harare from 2008 to 2012 and Rector at Saint Joseph’s Parish, Dzivarasekwa, Harare, in 2007. Dr. Gusha also served as Dean of Studies (Part Time) at Bishop Gaul Theological College from 2015 to 2021, as well as Part Time Lecturer in the same institution from 2007 to 2021. He also lectured part time at Wadzanai Training Center, Zimbabwe from 2008 to 2018, United Theological College, Zimbabwe from 2012 to 2015, Arupe Jesuit University, Zimbabwe from 2012 to 2013. From 2002 to 2007, he was Deacon at Saint Patrick’s Mission, Gweru and Assistant Priest at Silobela Mission District, Kwekwe from 2004 to 2006.
